To use rapé by yourself, you need a self-applicator (also called tepi). After putting a little bit of the powder in your hand, you will use the smallest side of the tepi to grab this powder. Once it is inside, put the longest side in your mouth and the smallest in your nostril. Whenever you are ready, blow into the tepi so that the powder gets into your noise. Your blow can be more or less intense and long, depending on what kind of experience you are looking for. As soon as you are done with one nostril, do the other one to balance the energy in your body. It is usually recommended to start with the left nostril. 

Prefer taking the rapé away from meals, on an empty stomach, in the morning or before sleeping. Choose a quiet place, where you will not be disturbed, without artificial light, and sit in a confortable position. Start the ritual by setting an intention for your session and a prayer for your rapé. You can then carry out a purification of yourself, of the place and of your sacred objects by using incense, sage, palo santo... Then, put in your hand a dose of rapé equivalent to the volume of a pea. Introduce half of it into your self-applicator (tepi) and then blow the rapé into the left nostril before moving fairly quickly to the right. It is imperative to do both nostrils. Try to keep the rapé inside for a while, even if it means sniffing loudly. If the medicine gets into your throat, feel free to spit it out. At the end of the ritual, or when you feel the need, blow your nose. Now take advantage of the rapé energy to meditate and focus. The effect lasts a few minutes after taking it but can extend in a gentle way for several hours. If this is a first take, please allow yourself several hours of free time to fully enjoy the experience.
